I got some candy for Valentine's day and Amelia found it.

Then, much to her dismay, I took the box away.

This is a funny little video of Amelia with the box of chocolates. For some reason my videos show up so much darker on dropshots. I guess because the resolution is worse?

Ahhh, I know that look well.

In answer to your comment about the public schools, even if they weren't heavily ESL, all of them are so bound up in this bogus "No Child Left Behind" teaching to the test garbage that nothing else gets done. Plus, the discipline problems are horrendous, meaning that I teach my daughter more in 3 hours a day than her friends get in about two full days.

I recommend you read a book called "Shame of a Nation" by Jonathan Kozol. It's really eye-opening!

As for unschooling, I don't do it because things are left out. If I unschooled, allowing the child to "tell me" what she wants to learn, then math would never get covered because she hates math. Period. We enjoy life much more than public school kids, have tons of freedom to do what we want when we want, but at the same time I want them to be well-rounded for their futures.

That's so cute! I love how she is totally covered in chocolate and still wants you to open the box for her. I would not want to do the clean up though :). Hehhehehe
