How bizarre!

One of my neighbors has a guy who stays over occasionally. I'm not sure if he lives there or not. The guy is currently standing in her garage with the door open. If he took another step he would be out in our shared driveway. He's standing there in a pair of tighty whiteys and some running shoes. And he's holding a plate and apparently he's eating his breakfast. In between sticking his hands in his underwear to adjust himself. Amelia spotted him first and said "Mommy, why is he outside in his panties? You're not supposed to go outside in only panties. Where's his Mommy?"

I'm still not sure what to say to that. I did close our curtains though...

Tackle It Tuesday!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

It's been a while, but I'm trying to get back to doing this project weekly, I really like seeing the results when it's all done. :-) I don't have pictures this week, although I did finally upload some pictures from Anthony's birthday, come back tomorrow to see those!

My project this week is my floors. We only have carpet in the bedrooms, the rest of the house is mostly wood. I try and do a quick mop job once a week, but what it really needs is a good on hands and knees scrubbing. So, that's what Amelia and I are tackling today! You can go visit 5 minutes for mom to see more Tackle It Tuesdays.

Did you play? Leave me a comment if you did! :-)

Monday ramblings.

I'm watching a new show today. It's called The Mentalist and its actual okay. I don't watch TV much these days, but I do like this show. It's been really warm here lately, although it supposed to cool off this weekend. I hope so. The kids room is the hottest, along with the kitchen, they both get a lot of afternoon sun. Jeff keeps talking about getting some bamboo shades to hang over the windows on that side of the house, but I'm not sure how I feel about that. I don't really want to lose the sunlight, I think it would feel like a cave in here even more than it already does. Oh well if I just agree to it, he'll probably forget about it when the weather cools off anyway. :-)

Friday Rambling

I should be cleaning my house, but there are about 30 other things I'd rather be doing. So instead I'm sitting here cutting out coupons and listening to my kids fight. Seriously, they are 1 and 3, aren't they supposed to wait until they are closer to the teenage years before they start fighting?

The ad on my email program is for acne pills. How is a pill going to help make your skin clear? I've never really understood that. Ugh, Amelia just smacked Anthony, I guess I better go referee the fight.

Hey Kathy

Check out this video.

And just in case anyone is unsure how I'm going to vote..

Until today, I had no idea all of the well known people making their opinions known on prop 8. In 5 minutes on you tube, I found Margaret Cho, Molly Ringwald, Ellen, a bunch of other people, and some hilarious Mac commercial spoofs.

I will never be okay with discriminating against someone because they like men instead of women or vice versa. Everyone should be able to get married. I'm okay with my kids learning in school that being gay is acceptable. It's people's fears and stupidity that lead to hating in my opinion. (Not to mention if you're really worried about it, you can have your children not be present for any sex ed classes so that's not even a valid complaint as far as I'm concerned.)

The shoes

So a few people have asked about the shoes in my last post, so here are a few pictures. Weird huh?

Saturday

I love October in SoCal. The weather has started to cool off a little and we can actually get out and do more stuff during the day. Jeff and I took the kids for a walk this morning, Amelia had a great time checking out the halloween decorations on people's houses. Speaking of walking I saw the weirdest thing the other day. They are called MBT shoes. They are really bizarre looking, but I guess they are really good for your feet. I'm still not sure i would wear them. Anyone out there tried them? I saw someone wearing them at the mall, but I've never seen them being sold somewhere.

Friday Fillins

1. Follow the yellow brick road.
2. My children is something I always take with me on vacation.
3. To achieve your goals, you must know what your goals are.
4. I'm getting awfully close to 30 and that scares me is something I'd like you to know about me.
5. I have a big headache.
6. I like cream soda floats.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to staying home, my kid's sick, tomorrow my plans include hanging out with my family and running errands and Sunday, I want to have everyone be well so we can go to a halloween party!

Did you play??

Sick again.

So it looks like we're sick again (or still) not sure which. It seems like we start to get better and then within a few days it's yucky again. We have a bunch of stuff we were supposed to do today, including Chuck E cheese this morning, and now Anthony woke up all grouchy and snotty. Poor baby. He is not a good sick kid. He wants to be held all day long when he's not feeling well. On one hand thats not so bad since he's normally not a snuggly baby, but still, I rather not get to hold him all day because he's miserable. So I guess we're all staying home today. Hopefully he's better by Sunday, we have a halloween party to go to.

Energy

I am constantly amazed at the energy level of a three year old. Seriously, my kid goes all day long and never stops. I think if we got her a hamster wheel she would just run all day long. I wonder if they make exercise bikes that you can hook up to power your house? I have the answer to all of our energy problems. We let the kids burn off some excess energry before bed, and get a break from the power bill at the same time!

No idea why I'm off on this tangent today other than Amelia is crazy and full of energy today. I think she is really missing the Grandmas, they flew home last night. The kids and I are off to costco now, woohoo! Who doesn't love Costco! :-) Must not drain the bank account for random krap we don't need. Maybe I can feed the kids samples for lunch. LOL

What's love got to do with it?

I had the best time tonight! My mom and I went to a concert. I was pleasantly surprised, at the age of 68, Tina Turner can still rock. I don't get to do a lot of stuff with my mom, so this was something cool that we got to share together. I'm really happy we went. The show was great too, it was quite a production. I took a few pictures with my cell phone but they were pretty krappy, no HDTV or anything here. LOL

Posting

So I think I'm going to start doing the paid blog posts for a while again. It would be really nice to have some extra $$ for Christmas, and I try not to use credit cards at all this time of year. SO anyway, just thought I'd give you all a warning that there may be some extra posts here and there in my blog. If you're offended feel free to leave and come back in mid December. I promise not to do a ton of extra post just a bit.

I can not believe how close it is until Christmas! I need to get my bearings, and get my lists of presents to buy all ready. It seems like the amount of people I have to buy for goes up exponentially each year!

Holy Meltdowns Batman!

My daughter is currently laying in the middle of the floor screaming at the top of her lungs. Why you ask? Well it started off with what I thought was a simple request. I should have known better. I just asked her to get dressed. That's all. I even let her pick out each item once I figured out that matching was not going to happen today. So from the undies to the jeans to the sweater dress to the mismatched shoes, each item was hand selected by Amelia with no input from dear old Mom. You'd think that would help her want to wear the outfit. of course that's not going to happen. She thinks a green froggy towel is a perfectly acceptable outfit to wear to playgroup and then to the OC airport to pick up the Grandma's. I love my kid and I know my friends and their kids would like to see us today. However, I don't think seeing her bare butt would make anyone happy. So here I sit trying to regain my composure while I prepare to do battle again. Really, it's not a big deal if we skip playgroup, they all understand. However I don't think my mom and grandma will understand if we skip the airport. And I refuse to take a buck naked kid into the airport. (Or let her ride in my car that way.) So wish me luck. And if this blog gets neglected for too long, you can assume I've given up the fight and I'm laying on the floor with her, screaming my lungs out. Cause seriously, if you can't beat em, join em!

I love my husband. That's all I came here to say. Back to your regularly scheduled programs and have a nice day. :-)
So it's early, and of course the kids are up and ready to go. AMelia had me call my mom at 630 to see if she was ready for us to come pick her up! Poor kid was already dressed, had eaten breakfast and had her shoes on. i guess she likes having Grandma here to visit. So for some reason, thinking about all that made me think about DNA testing. Seriously! I wonder if you went around and tested the general population, how many of the people would be surprised to find out who their real family is. How often do people have children, and not tell everyone involved who the real players are. Yes I know I'm a nut. But really, these are the things i think about while I'm feeding my kids...

Firsts...

Who was your FIRST prom date? I never went to a prom with a date. I went with my friends.

Do you still talk to your FIRST love? Nope.

What was your FIRST alcoholic drink? I remember sneaking drinks from my Dad's beer when I was little.

What was your FIRST job? I worked at Heenan's Burnt Finger BBQ in Seaview, WA

What was your FIRST car? 83 Subaru Station Wagon

Who was your FIRST grade teacher? I had two because me moved. The first one was Mrs. Pomeroy, then I had Mrs. Paige after we moved.

Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? Flew from PDX to Sacramento. We were going to see Family in Oroville. It was my sister and I by ourselves. I was 12 I think.

Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them? Marcie. We were friends in Kindergarten. I found her on myspace recently but we live in different states.

What was your FIRST sport played? Never really played sports unless I had to in P.E.

Where was your FIRST sleep over? I had my first slumber party when I was 8. It was a disaster as far as my mom was concerned, but we had fun!

Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? My sisters wedding. I was her maid of honor. :-)

What was the FIRST thing you did this morning? Wonder why my kids wake up so early.

What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? I have to agree with brianna, i'm pretty sure I went to some concert in utero.

FIRST tattoo or piercing? No tats, I have 3 piercings in each ear, the first was when I was 8.

FIRST foreign country you went to for vacation? Never left the states!

What was your FIRST run in with the law? Never really had one.

When was your FIRST detention? I had lots of them. Especially in Jr. High...

What was the FIRST state you lived in? Oregon

Who was the FIRST person to break your heart? Some dumb boy. Doesn't matter anymore and what you survive makes you stronger right? I can't even remember who it was now.

Who was your FIRST roommate? I guess Bryn, I moved in with her when I was in high school. My first room mate as an adult was a bunch of people, I lived with Tommy and Tami and Peanut and Sky and a crazy old lady named Suzie. It was insane, but I had a lot of fun. It was one of the better times in my life. :-)

Where did you go on your FIRST limo ride? I don't remember ever riding in one.

Who will be the FIRST to repost this?I don't know. a bunch of people have already done it. :-)

junk

Um yeah. So we finally, finally got rid of our storage unit. Yippee! Too bad all that krap is now piled in my garage. Although really, there was a lot of stuff piled in there before so I'm not sure anyone else could tell the difference. Seriously though, why do we keep all this junk? I know things like elementary school football trophies are really important, as are pieces of broken furniture that once belonged to a family member.

Random stuff

Amelia just ran screaming through the house. "He's gonna get me Mommy! He's so scary." Then she hopped in my lap and said "save me Mommy." When i asked who she needed to be saved from, the reply was simple, " The gardener is going to get me!" Leave it to my kid to run screaming through the house because there is a gardener in our front yard. Silly kid.

My mom and Grandma are arriving tomorrow. I'm soooo excited! I can't wait to see them. We're going to do a bunch of the regular random tourist stuff, go to Hollywood, go to the pier in HB and then on Tuesday night my mom and I are going to a concert. Woohoo. we're also going to have a little family birthday party for Anthony. I can not believe my little man is going to be 1 soon.

And sometime in the next couple of weeks, I need to look for some office furniture. We really need a new desk.

What's for dinner?

I love cooking. Too bad I hate the cleanup! I've been trying out more new recipes lately, although I'm always looking for more. I love checking allrecpes.com for new Italian recipes. As long as there aren't too many veggies involved it seems to be Jeff's favorite food. I also really like doing menu planning. It makes life so much simpler to have the whole weeks worth of dinners planned out. So internet, whats your favorite recipe. I'd love to hear what your favorite dinner recipe is.

The joys of Costco.

The kids and I went to Costco today. I am so happy that things are finally easy again with two kids. Anthony is out of the baby stage and more into the toddler stage and it's just so much easier to do stuff with him. Amelia had a blast at Costco, apparently it's right up there with Kathy's house as the fun place to go. :-) I love that you can find a jumbo sized anything at Costco. You can probably get a small business franchise there too. LOL We perused the toy aisle and Amelia was in heaven! They have her Christmas present there, I think we're getting them a play kitchen. It's pretty nice and I like that it's wood not plastic.

hmm

Finally I am starting to feel better. It seems like we have all been sick for days and weeks and months! Not sure what the deal is but we just keep getting sick over and over again. I feel like I've been living on diet coke and nyquil. Nice huh? Probably not the healthiest way to go. LOL So we've recently discovered that we don't have all the pieces necessary to make Amelia's bed turn into bunk beds again. It figures, I guess our discount furniture wasn't such a good deal after all. I'm sure it had all the pieces originally, but they didn't get put up and now who knows where they are. Oh well, I don't think Jeff likes the idea of bunk beds anyway. He seems really concerned that Amelia will get hurt on them. Which is a definite possibility. Although really she can hurt herself on just about anything. LOL

Wednesday Ramblings

I have 37 other things I should be doing right now, but instead I'm hiding in my room for 5 minutes with my laptop. I'm sure the kids will probably destroy the house in the 5 minutes, but hey, at least maybe I'll be a little more sane than I was previously. Actually they are both sitting in Anthony's crib, Amelia says she is rescuing Dora from the crocodiles and Anthony is just laughing at her. Everyone in this house (except for me) is sick. Poor Jeff is making it to work, but as soon as he gets home he goes to bed. Neither kid is sleeping well due to the snot constantly exiting their noses so Mommy is tired too.

My mom is coming to visit in less than two weeks, I really need to get my house up to par. I know that it shouldn't matter, but really, it does.

I have a birthday party for a 1 year old to plan. Now you would probably think that this isn't a big deal but it is. First birthdays are a big deal to me for some reason. And since we don't have family around we do parties with our friends.

I've decided to start doing a little homeschool preschool program with Amelia. She is obsessed with school and I think this will give her something to do each day that is just for her and Mommy, no little brothers involved.

Anthony is on the verge of walking. He could do it if he wanted to, he just doesn't want to much yet. He is very strong and has good balance, but just doesn't want to let go.

Today is the second week of a class I signed up for with Amelia and again, we can't go. I don't want to drag sick kids to the class, but it still sucks that we are missing the class again.

I just bought a bunch of clothes on eBay for my kids. I am in love with eBay. I bought all stuff new with tags, but soooo much cheaper than in the stores. Mostly I'm buying gymboree stuff at Walmart prices. Can't complain about that. If my kids would stop growing taller they wouldn't need clothes so often. Okay my five minutes are up, off I go to change a poopy diaper and bathe my children.
